Dog Boarding FAQs
What makes Wiggles special for overnight care?
Wiggles is the most luxurious and special place for dogs in Putnam County. Lucky pups will have new luxury suites, raised beds with comfy bedding and a team of loving, well-trained staff to take care of them.
Do you require reservations?
Safety is our number one priority, and a big part of that is ensuring the best level of staffing every day. For this reason, we do require reservations for lodging.
What vaccinations does my dog need?
To protect all the pets in our care, we REQUIRE proof of current vaccination for the following:
- Rabies
- Distemper combo with Leptospirosis
- Bordetella
We also HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
- Canine influenza vaccinations
We will be requiring the Canine Influenza Vaccine as of April 15, 2024.
My dog isn't spayed/neutered, can they still come to Wiggles?
Yes. Dogs over the age of 8 months who aren’t spayed or neutered are welcome to join us for individual playtime! However, older pups who aren’t spayed or neutered are not a good fit for group play.
But, for the safety of all our guests and staff, we’re not able to accept unspayed females who are in heat, approaching heat or have just come out of heat.
How do I make my pet’s reservation?
To customize and make a reservation at Wiggles Pet Resort, please call us at 845-628-0200.
Do you require an activity package?
Yes. We believe activity and interaction are necessary for a happy and healthy stay. Since pets are not one-size-fits-all, each pet parent gets to customize a discounted activity package for their pet. All of our packages provide varying levels of activity, interaction, engagement, and routine for your dog to enjoy while they’re here. We want each pet to have the most fun while doing what they love!
When can I drop off and pick up my pet for their overnight stays?
To avoid our ‘daycare drop off rush,’ we suggest overnight guests be dropped off between 10am-12 noon. This will give each dog an opportunity to meet lots of new friends (either furry buddies or humans) and enjoy plenty of playtime.
Very similar to most human hotels, our standard checkout time for lodging is 12 noon. We are also often able to accommodate later checkouts for a modest additional fee. In order to best serve you, please let our welcoming team know your expected drop-off and pick-up times.
I’m nervous about boarding my pet.
We understand. At Wiggles Pet Resort, all members of our staff are specially trained to check on your furry family member throughout the day and love them like they’re used to at home. We also have the most advanced software that tracks every task that makes up our exceptional care.
Can I bring my pet’s own food?
Yes! To keep each dog on their regular diet, we request you bring your dog’s normal food. Therefore, we ask you please bag and label each serving separately. Sandwich bags and a permanent marker work great. We ask you to bag and label each serving separately because we want to feed the same amount you serve at home. Our kitchen is in a 100-year-old stone building, so we are also limited on space.
What is a special feeding charge and why do you have it?
Our standard overnight care includes up to two servings of each dog’s own food, bagged and labeled per serving. We can accommodate feeding dry or moist foods, and we have refrigerators and microwaves for our guests as well. If your dog is on a raw diet or has numerous components to his or her meals, there may be an extra charge to accommodate the additional labor involved.
Can I bring my pet’s own bedding?
All of our suites are outfitted with raised beds and custom, soft, clean bedding, so please leave your pet’s bedding at home.
Can I bring my pet’s favorite toy?
Wiggles has lots of fun, regularly cleaned toys for your pup to play with so there’s no need to bring any from home.
I have multiple dogs. Can they stay together?
It would be our pleasure to host your fur family. We offer large suites for multi-pet families to stay together. Call us at 845-628-0200 to customize your reservation.
Can you accommodate special needs pets?
Wiggles Pet Resort is equipped to accommodate many types of special needs pets. Please call us to discuss your pet’s needs and we’ll consult with your veterinarian to help you decide if we’re the best place for your pup.
My pet takes medications. Can you administer them?
Yes, if your pet has oral or topical prescription medications, please bring them in their original containers with clear instructions. To ensure proper handling and administration, there is a small fee per dose. We also offer a TLC Package especially designed for senior or special needs pets which includes unlimited medications.
Unfortunately, we are unable to administer injectable medications including insulin. Should your pup require insulin we recommend you contact your veterinarian.
Can I add grooming/bathing to my pet’s lodging stay?
Absolutely—we recommend it. We offer professional, full-service grooming and bathing at Wiggles. We’d love to send your pup home looking and feeling incredible!
How do you ensure my pet is safe and healthy?
We do this in many ways! Wiggles Pet Resort is equipped with industry-leading health and wellness systems. Our specialty air purification system was designed for use with pets and has five times the capability of systems designed for humans. We also have pet-specific play surfaces including K9Grass® which provides a clean, soft surface that’s easy on paws.
And most importantly, we have highly trained staff that treat each pet guest like their own.
What’s the difference between Wiggles Pet Resort and Stone Meadow Kennels?

Our daycare guests exercise their minds and bodies every day while under the care and supervision of our devoted staff. Daycare at Wiggles is not only a ton of fun, it also provides a healthy and constructive alternative to staying home alone.

My dog isn’t spayed/neutered, can they still come to Wiggles for daycare?
Most people think of daycare as a bunch of well-socialized dogs playing together. We strive to offer the best version of that. We’re also pleased to offer a fun-filled custom daycare program for dogs who are better suited to play with human friends than furry ones.
Dogs over the age of 8 months who aren’t spayed or neutered are welcome to join us for custom daycare!
For the safety of all our guests and staff, we’re not able to accept unspayed females who are in heat, approaching heat or have just come out of heat.
Do you require a daycare evaluation?
Our goal is for each new guest to join us and enjoy the safest and most fun daycare program possible. The first step is a “welcome day,” when a dog comes and plays with us to see which play option they like most.
What is the welcome day like?
Your dog will get a chance to meet our team and the other pups playing with us. We’ll observe their play habits and body language to determine the type of play environment they enjoy most. More socially inclined pups will gradually meet the “pack.” Dogs who prefer to play with a team member will have a blast with individual play.
What will my dog be doing at daycare?
We have multiple play options to meet the needs of most every pup personality! Our standard dog daycare is a group play program perfect for social dogs. We also have our custom and individual play options for dogs who prefer human company. No matter which program they prefer, they’ll enjoy lots of exercise in our play yards, interaction with staff, and comfy rest times in a climate-controlled suite.
What should I expect on my dog’s first day?
We believe your dog’s first experience with Wiggles will be wonderful. We want your pup to see Wiggles as a fun, fabulous extension of your love. Therefore, a fun and brief introduction is ideal. Please schedule your first day with our welcome team. Normal drop off times for this service are around 10am.
This gives your dog plenty of time to explore their surroundings and get comfortable with us. We’ll slowly introduce them to their new playmates. Then the playtime begins. At the end of your pup’s time (generally around 2pm), we’ll give you a report on how much they enjoyed their time with us and our recommendations.
Do you require reservations?
Safety is our number one priority. An essential key to this is ensuring the best level of staffing every day. For this reason, yes, we do require reservations
My dog doesn’t like to play with a lot of other dogs. Can they still join daycare?
Absolutely. We appreciate that each dog is unique, so we have multiple daycare programs to suit dogs of different social levels. Our individual play program features one-on-one playtime with a specially trained staff member to ensure your pet gets all the exercise, attention, and playtime they desire.
Can I add bathing to my pet’s daycare reservation?
Absolutely– we recommend it! We’ll be happy to set up a spa appointment for your pet to ensure they go home looking and feeling amazing.
Do you have daycare packages?
Yes! Dog daycare packages offer maximum savings. Call today to speak with a team member about your options.
Can my puppy join daycare?
Puppies are more than welcome to wiggle with the rest of us at daycare. Puppy groups focus on developing early social behaviors and good play manners.
How many days should my dog attend daycare?
We suggest bringing your dog to play at least one day every week. Why? Just like humans, dogs are more comfortable with new friends when they’ve had the chance to spend more time together! This way, your dog will get to form a relationship with the staff and other dogs who come on their day and have an even better time. We want our daycare guests to be as comfortable and excited to play as possible, so we encourage pet parents to make standing reservations for their preferred days of the week.
Dog Grooming & Spa FAQs
How often should I bring my dog in for bathing?
Routine bathing is an important part of keeping your pup happy, healthy, and beautiful! How often your dog needs a bath depends on their breed and activity level. Some dogs are fine to visit us once a month, but others may need a freshening-up every other week. Talk to our knowledgeable staff about the best bathing schedule for your pet.
How do you dry the dogs?
Depending on the dog’s coat and the treatment they received, we’ll either use a cool-air blow dryer or thoroughly towel them off and let them air dry.
What kind of products do you use?
Wiggles only uses pet-specific products made of natural ingredients. We also offer a line of specialty shampoos and conditioners designed for certain results, like coat whitening, flea and tick treatments, dry skin shampoos, glossy coat shampoos, de-shedding, and others.
Can I add bathing to my pet’s lodging/daycare reservation?
Absolutely– we recommend it! We’ll be happy to set up a spa appointment for your pet to ensure they go home looking and feeling amazing.
How often should I get my dog’s nails trimmed?
Like human nails, dog nails grow constantly and need to be trimmed to prevent them from affecting your dog’s comfort and posture. Every 2-3 weeks is an effective schedule for most dogs, but they can be cut more or less often depending on your dog’s needs.
Dog Training FAQs
Do you offer puppy training?
Absolutely—we firmly believe starting training early in your puppy’s life is a critical step in helping them develop into their best selves. Puppies will learn a special curriculum designed to introduce them to obedience, home manners, a healthy routine, and socialization with other puppies.
How many days of Stay & Train/Play & Train should I book?
Because consistency and repetition in a short period of time are key to these programs, we offer 10- and 15-day packages. The more time your pup has with us, the more concrete the results.
What vaccinations are required?
To protect all the pets in our care, we REQUIRE proof of current vaccination for the following:
- Rabies
- Distemper combo with Leptospirosis
- Bordetella
We also HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
- Canine influenza vaccinations
We will be requiring the Canine Influenza Vaccine as of April 15, 2024.
Is my dog too old to benefit from training?
No. There is truly no such thing as a dog that’s “too old” to learn. While starting training early in your dog’s life sets the stage for a smoother training experience, the right amount of repetition and patience can help any dog learn new skills. Call us today to schedule your training evaluation.
What is a training evaluation?
You’ll meet one-on-one with a member of our professional training team to discuss your goals, challenges, and experiences. We’ll explain our processes, tell you about our programs and facility, and help determine the best training approach for your situation. This meeting is also the first step in developing your pet’s customized training program.
What kind of training techniques do you use?
We utilize positive-based techniques that coincide with your dog’s natural motivations and desires. It’s important to us that training be a rewarding and fun experience for your dog. While we do use treats as a motivator, we also use praise and verbal rewards to guide your dog.
